Benedetto Revelli
Feast: 12 February (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
St. Benedict, bishop of Albenga, in Italy, was a scion of the family of the Revelli and was born near Tabia, whither his parents had taken refuge during a pestilence. After living as a monk in the monastery of S. Maria dei Fonti and dwelling for some time as a hermit on the island of Galinaria, he was made bishop of Albenga, and died in the year 900, reputed for a holy life and the gift of miracles. At the time of his death he was outside of his diocese, but his remains were taken back first to Albenga and were finally interred in the abbey in which he had professed. The city of Albenga chose him as its patron.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
A Benedictine Martyrology (1922) remembers him on 12 February.
