Who they were
At Trier in the Rhineland in Austrasia, today Germany, Saint Basinus, bishop, who, born of the dukes of the kingdom of Austrasia, became first a monk, then abbot of Saint Maximin of Trier, and, finally raised to the episcopal see of the city, allowed the foundation of the monastery of Saint Irmina at Echternach in Luxembourg.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 4 March as a monk, abbot of Saint Maximin and then bishop of Trier.
