Bardo
German Roman Catholic archbishop of Mainz and saint
Who they were
At Mainz in Franconia in Germany, Blessed Bardo, bishop, who was first abbot of Hersfeld and, raised afterwards to the dignity of bishop, cared excellently for his Church with untiring pastoral concern.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 11 June as an abbot of Hersfeld who became bishop of Mainz and cared for his Church with untiring concern.
The cause
The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.
