Artemius von Clermont
Who they were
Saint Artemius, also called Arthème, Artème, Arthemio or Parthem, is held to have been a bishop of Clermont who died in 394; older episcopal lists place him sixth among the city's bishops, after Nepotianus and before Venerandus.
According to tradition he was an imperial ambassador sent on a mission to Spain who fell seriously ill with fever near Clermont; there he is said to have converted to Christianity and later become bishop. His relics are kept in the parish church of Saint-Parthem in the Aveyron, where his feast is kept locally on 24 January.
