Who they were
Commemoration of Saint Anysius, bishop of Thessalonica, who, appointed apostolic vicar in ancient Illyricum by the Roman Pontiffs and greatly praised by Saint Ambrose, flourished in the time of the emperor Theodosius.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 30 December as a bishop of Thessalonica, papal vicar in Illyricum, praised by Saint Ambrose.
