Antonin de Carpentras
Feast: 13 September (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
Antonino was the third bishop of Carpentras, an ancient see in southern Gaul. Formed at the abbey of Lérins, founded by Saint Honoratus of Arles, he was a typical monk-bishop, bringing the ascetic rigour and spirituality learned on the island to the pastoral care of his diocese.
He is attested as bishop between 463 and 464, succeeding Constantine, and he died in 473. His veneration remained especially strong in the Comtat Venaissin, notably at Bédoin at the foot of Mont Ventoux, where a hill bears his name and an old parish church was dedicated to him.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
