Abundius
Feast: 11 July (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
At Córdoba in Andalusia in Spain, Saint Abundius, priest, who during the persecution of the Moors, questioned by the judge, upheld the reasons of the faith in bold answers and, having roused immediate indignation, was put to death and then exposed to be devoured by dogs and wild beasts.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 11 July as a priest of Córdoba put to death under the Moors for boldly defending the faith.
