Donus (or Domnus) was the son of a Roman named Mauricius and was consecrated in November 676. Little is known of his life and acts.
He paved the forecourt of St Peter's with great blocks of white marble and restored churches. In his time the Archbishop of Ravenna returned to obedience to Rome, ending the attempt to make that see independent.
