Who he was
Caius led the Church for over twelve years, from December 283 to April 296, according to the Liberian Catalogue. He lived in the years of peace before the last great persecution under Diocletian. Nothing else is known of his life.
What he is remembered for
He was buried in the papal crypt of the Catacomb of St Callistus. He shares his feast with St Soter on 22 April.
